Hello, I am Kez Wickham St George and I’m a Western Australian Author and 3D abstract artist with a broad and flexible technique developed over many years working with mixed media.
I studied Art and Art History at the University of Auckland and moved to Rockingham in 2004.
I often use motifs from the South Pacific Islands and acrylics, recycled paper, pastels, and liquid glass to create unique pieces on large canvases, wood & other solid-based materials. My collections have been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Western Australia. Several of my creations hang in private residences overseas, including in South Africa, England, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia.
I also have a passion for wearable arts. My art often wanders into the realm of the mysterious, I recently created wearable arts for the yearly Wearable Arts competition held in Mandurah. I have now added that to the list of “I must do it” every year.
I get so much enjoyment volunteering at the Castaways Beach Sculpture Exhibition (City of Rockingham), the Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah and the Stretch Arts Festival (City of Mandurah).
In October 2014 I once again exhibited five of my abstract art canvases at the Rockingham Arts Gallery.
2015 was a very busy, three exhibition openings as a guest speaker, two Interviews on Art as the Interviewer and a stint on local radio is also looking promising. A passion for where I reside & my community is very important to me, as is mentoring other artists of all genre.
My passions are travel, family, gardening, painting, writing, reading good books, movies, meeting friends and having spontaneous dinner parties to celebrate as I choose to celebrate my life on planet earth.
I have travelled to many exotic places, met and dined with many people in all walks of life, from desert campfires to a small fishing village in Lombok or custard filled croissants under the Eiffel tower Paris to a hangi in New Zealand. all adding to the creative stories for my books & art.
My studio is located in Cooloongup, Rockingham.
